The Royal Flying Doctor Outback Heritage Experience is located at the RFDS base right next to Broken Hill Airport Terminal. Follow the signs along Bonanza Street to Pro Hart Way.

Regular opening hours are as below:
Monday to Friday: 9am - 5pm
Saturday to Sunday: 10am - 4pm
Public holidays: Closed

Pre-booking is required for group tours and school groups (e.g. 10 or more people).

There are a number of accessible car parking spaces located at the front entrance to assist with access to our attraction and facilities.
Accessibility
Our centre is accessible by wheelchair and those with walking difficulties. We cater for all age groups and provide seating within the exhibition area. we have a wheelchair available, and all our flooring is on a flat surface.
Carers and Companions
We offer free entry to carers or essential companions of those with disabilities. we accept the national Companion Card or a letter from a recognised care/social service organisation.
First Aid
We have trained first aid officers on staff. Contact a staff member as required.
Assistance Dogs
We welcome guests with accredited Assistance Dogs. We accept accreditation under Guide Dogs, Hearing Assistance Dogs and Assistance Dogs Australia and welcome the following:
- Guide (or ‘seeing eye’) dogs to assist people with vision impairment to move around safely;
- Hearing (or ‘hearing ear’) dogs to alert people with hearing impairment;
- Assistance (or ‘service’) dogs, specifically trained to assist a person with a disability, to alleviate the effects of that disability.
If you are planning a visit with an Assistance dog, pre-arrangements need to be made by emailing us at least 72 hours prior to your visit date to ensure that the relevant Staff are notified of your visit.
Please note that school holiday periods are very busy and, where possible, avoiding this period will ensure a better experience for you and your assistance dog.
Guests are not permitted to bring their own domestic animals or pets into the attraction.
Languages other than English
We will soon offer our exhibition on the IZI travel app, allowing for use across multi languages.
